Statement of Priorities for Federal Fiscal Year 2005
(October 1 ,2004 - September 30, 2005)
PRIORITY ONE:
Ensure that reports of abuse or neglect of persons with disabilities in public or private facilities and in the community are responded to, investigated, and addressed in a timely and effective manner.
PRIORITY TWO:
Seek the development of appropriate state services for parents with disabilities to preserve or reunify families.
PRIORITY THREE:
Improve access to assistive technology for nursing home residents.
PRIORITY FOUR:
Increase awareness of work incentives under the Social Security Act, and correct deficiencies in the provision of vocational rehabilitation and other services to Social Security beneficiaries, so that gainful employment can be obtained or maintained.
PRIORITY FIVE:
Promote full participation in the electoral process for persons with disabilities, including registering to vote, casting a ballot, and accessing polling places.
PRIORITY SIX:
Improve access to comprehensive, high quality health care services and educational programs designed to improve the quality of life for persons with traumatic brain injury.
