Statement of Priorities

PRIORITY SEVEN:

Subject to the FACTORS FOR DETERMINING ACCEPTANCE OF CASES (footnoted on FINAL page *), represent clients on the following issues:

A. SAFETY, GUARDIANSHIP AND INFORMED CONSENT

1. Represent persons reportedly abused or neglected when those reports are not responded to, investigated, and addressed in a timely and effective manner for the purpose of ensuring that the appropriate authorities do so.
2. Represent persons contesting a guardianship, a petition for guardianship, the scope of a guardianship, or the appointment of a particular person as a guardian.
3. Represent persons alleged to be unable to give informed consent prior to medical treatment or procedures.

B. CHILDREN'S EDUCATION

• 1. Represent students whose current or proposed educational placement is not in the least restrictive environment appropriate to meet the student’s individual needs.
  
• 2. Represent students who are not provided appropriate school-to-adult transition planning and services.
